FNSW Futsal Cup
Football NSW, introduced a new competition in 2017 for Open Age men’s and women’s teams. The FNSW Futsal Cup is a mid-week knock-out competition (think FFA Cup or FA Cup) that has been sponsored by Indoor 5s Futsal.
In 2017 the competition was open to PL1 and PL2 open men’s and women’s teams, State League and community-based teams. The inaugural winners were Inner West Magic (who defeated Quake Futsal) in the men’s competition and Dural Warriors (over Mascot Vipers) in the women.
The Boomerangs women’s team was eliminated by the eventual champions, Dural Warriors (on penalties) in the semi-finals, whilst the men were also eliminated in the semi-final 3-1, to losing grand finalist, Quake Futsal.
The 2018 Futsal Cup regulations were amended to only allow all 16 Premier League teams to compete (PL1 and PL2),
