Round 11 PREVIEW v Campbelltown Quake

This weekend sees the Boomerangs at home at the AIS taking on the strong Campbelltown Quake club. The weekend’s matches will provide plenty of challenges for all Boomerangs teams from Under 12s through to the Open Men and Women.

Earlier this season, in Round 4 at Minto – across almost all age groups – the Boomerangs teams were involved in tight and fairly evenly contested match ups with their Quake counterparts. The majority of those close matches though went Quake’s way resulting in only two wins and a draw for the Boomerangs. This return needs to be improved upon – and should be – with the benefit of a home court advantage, and no away travel.

The wins in Round 4 came from the Youth Men and the Men and the draw from the 16 girls. Close tussles were fought out in the 12 and 14 boys, and the 14 girls.

After ten rounds of the 13/14 season, Quake’s best performing teams include their 12 boys (equal first), 12 girls (4th), 16 boys (1st), Youth Men (equal 2nd), their Open Men (in 3rd – on the same points as Boomerangs) and their strong Open Women’s team (1st).

On form, and table position, there are many opportunities for the Boomerangs teams to pick up valuable competition points from Quake.

The games kick off at the AIS Training Halls from 12 noon with the Open Men’s and Women’s games featuring from around 6 o’clock. Come along and check out some of Australia’s finest futsal.
