Round 8 v Dural Warriors Review

Round 8 of the 2013/2014 Football NSW Futsal Premier League saw the commencement of the second half of the season for the Boomerangs and was an away round (the third in succession) to Dural against yet another of the league’s powerhouse clubs, Dural Warriors.

A miserable return of only a solitary point from one draw – and zero wins – was not at all the result that the club was after. This was especially disappointing given the first round of the competition where the Boomerangs sent the Dural Warriors home with only three wins and two draws and leaving the majority of the competition points on offer in the Capital.

Little commentary is needed aside from the comment that ALL teams need to improve their results in the final six weeks of the competition.

12 Boys

Boomerangs 3 – 5 Dural

Currently fifth on the table, one game out of the top four and in with a chance of making the finals.

12 Girls

Boomerangs 0 – 6 Dural

In seventh place currently, but only two wins out of the top four. Four teams though will be battling it out for that fourth spot, so a challenging final six rounds for this team to make the finals.

14 Boys

Boomerangs 2 – 5 Dural

Currently in sixth place in with a bunch of teams that will be fighting it out for fourth spot. The challenge is set.

14 Girls

Boomerangs 1 – 7 Dural

Currently in equal last and no chance of making the top four. Pride and the club is what this team needs to play for for the remainder of the season.

16 Boys

Boomerangs 2 – 6 Dural

In last position on the table with only a single win so far this season — like the 14 girls, the team is now playing for pride and the club in the last six rounds.

16 Girls

Boomerangs 0 – 1 Dural

In seventh place with little chance of making the top four — unless they convert draws to wins!

Youth Men

Boomerangs 1 – 1 Dural

The Youth men are starting to play some really nice futsal and are showing they can mix it with the best teams in the competition… Perhaps it is too little too late though as they still sit on the bottom of the league table. On saying that though they are only three wins from first place – anything could happen in this youth competition.

Open Women

Boomerangs 1 – 4 Dural

Their fifth loss in the last six games have seen the the Women’s team drop from being a premiership contender to second last on the ladder and a real chance of missing the finals. And for the first time in many weeks the squad was at full strength with nearly almost all players making the trip to Dural. However, they couldn’t put it together on the day and succumbed to a more organised and desperate (to win) Dural team.

Open Men

Boomerangs 2 – 3 Dural

An absolute classic of a game pitting two of the best teams up against each other. Both teams were down a couple of players, but were extremely closely matched throughout. This result though has dethroned the Boomerangs men from the top of the table for the first time this season. (It was fortunate that Inner West Magic also lost, or else the drop would have been to third position)  A win next week is essential in an endeavour to once again retain top spot.
