Round 12 PREVIEW v Enfield Rovers

Whilst the past few weeks has provided an opportunity to take some time away from the game, the next several weeks are a busy and demanding time for many Boomerangs players. This coming weekend (Saturday 11 January) has a scheduled round of matches away against Enfield Rovers. Concurrently, a good many Boomerangs players and coaches are also involved in final preparations for the Australian FFA Futsal Nationals being held from Monday 13 to Friday 17 January across various venues in Canberra.

Turning to the FNSW Premier League Round 12 clashes against Enfield, it remains vital for the club to return from Morris Iemma Stadium in Riverwood with as many competition points as possible. And the weekend’s matches will provide plenty of opportunities for all Boomerangs teams from Under 12s through to the Open Men and Women.

Earlier this season, in Round 5 at the AIS, the match up between the two clubs was a close one, resulting in two drawn games (14G, 16G), three wins to Boomerangs (14B, OM, OW) and four to Enfield (12B, 12G, 16B, YM).

Given current form and relative position on the nine division tables, it is not inconceivable – even though this is an Enfield home round – that the Boomerangs could come away with as many as seven wins (or possibly six wins and a draw).

The games kick off at the Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre, just off the M5 at Belmore Rd Riverwood from 12 noon with the Open Men’s kicking off around 6.10pm.
