The home and away component of the 15/16 Football NSW Premier League 2 competition has now concluded; and it has certainly been a stellar season for the Boomerangs – one of the best in the club’s history.
Seventy four wins from 108 games played by the nine teams (68.5%), lifted the team to the PL2 Club Championship – a clear 12 points (4 wins) ahead of second placed Raiders Futsal. The 74 wins also surpassed the early season target set of six wins per round for the season.
Of the nine Boomerangs teams competing, eight will be contesting finals over the next three weeks.
Two teams finished on top of their competition table and were Minor Premiers — the 17 Girls and Open Women.
The 12 Boys, 13 Girls, 15 Girls and Youth Men have finished in second position. These six teams will play in qualifying semi-finals in week one of the finals series.
The Open Men have finished in third spot, and the 16 Boys in fourth. These two teams will play in elimination semi-finals in week one of the finals series.
Of the nine teams competing, only the 14 Boys missed out on a top four finish – finishing four points shy of fourth place (in fifth).
