FNSW 15/16 Premier League

2015/16 Futsal Declaration of Leagues

The 2015/16 Futsal season will see, for the first time in the sport’s history, the introduction of three tiers of Futsal Competitions.

The Football NSW Futsal Premier League, Futsal Premier League 2 and Futsal State League will all feature eight (8) Clubs playing in home and away matches during the 2015/16 Futsal season.

Each Club will field teams in nine age groups – 12 Boys, 13 Girls, 14 Boys, 15 Girls, 16 Boys, 17 Girls, Youth Men, Open Women, Open Men.

2015/16 will also see the introduction of a Futsal Development League with an U11 Boys age group and an U11 Girls age group. Eleven (11) Futsal Premier League and Futsal Premier League 2 Clubs will make up the U11 Boys, while eight (8) Clubs will make up the U11 Girls age group.

The Futsal Development League will be non-competitive and is aimed at promoting development.

Entry to all Leagues is dependent upon the criteria relating to the Football NSW Limited competitions being met by each club, including confirmed access to compliant facilities.

Football NSW Competitions Manager Troy McColl stated that the sport of Futsal was constantly on the way up and this was displayed with the introduction of three tiers of competitions.

“It’s no secret that the sport of Futsal has for so many years been one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

“The game has gone from strength to strength and we at Football NSW have continuously fought tooth and nail in getting the game to where it is today and improving it across all levels.

“The new season will herald a new era for the sport as I am sure will be eagerly anticipated by the many dedicated players, coaches, referees, managers and fans alike, waiting to be part of what will be a special year for Futsal in NSW.”
