2013 Men

Boomerangs FS were very pleased to again be admitted to the third year of the Men’s F-League for season 2013.

A squad of some 30 players trialled during April/May 2013 under the eye of club president Kristian Collins and ACT men’s team coach, Simon Aitchison. Simon led the ACT Men’s team to victory at the 2013 Futsal Nationals played in January.

The Men’s squad in 2013 was a mix of experienced players and some talented youth players. The average age of the 2013 men’s team was just over 20.

After a terrific second season in the F-League in 2012, the Boomerangs were looking to improve results on the fourth place achieved, and to challenge for top spot. The Boomerangs in fact finished the 2013 league once again in fourth position, but with an additional point, and achieved by utilising only local players – and a young development squad.

The finals series saw the Boomerangs up against top placed Vic Vipers with Dural Warriors taking on Sydney Scorpions in the other semi-final.

The Boomerangs young team were narrowly defeated by the Vipers (3-4) ending the season before the utlimate match. Dural defeated Scorpions in the other high scoring semi, 8-6, with Vic Vipers going on to defeat Dural in the Grand Final 4-0.
