Boomerangs FS was pleased to once again be competing in the F-League for season 2016, the fourth consecutive year of competing in the highest level women’s futsal competition in Australia.
The teams involved in the 2016 F-League women’s competition included:

East Coast Heat FC (NSW)
Galaxy FC (QLD)
South Brisbane Futsal Club (QLD)
Bayside Pirates (VIC)
VIC Vipers (VIC)
As with the men’s team, the season saw improvement from the 2015 season, with many of the younger players developing into senior, core members of the team. A finals spot was oh so close, with Vic Vipers grabbing fourth spot by the narrowest of margins. There were more than enough signs that the team developed and improved significantly during the season, and that they will definitely be in contention at the top end of the table in season 2017.
The competition itself has also improved significantly over the most recent couple of seasons and seeing continued strong performances from Dural Warriors (last season’s bolters), the Vic Vipers from Melbourne – that had several Sydney-based players amongst their ranks. The stand out performances were from the two Queensland sides who made the Grand Final – South Brisbane and Galaxy. A notable mention must go to the Galaxy team that took out the Grand Final from Premiers South Brisbane in their inaugural season in this league.
